When I open notepad on widnows it opens too big. I have to mess around in order to get it down to the correct side and then when I open it again I have to repeat the process.

To fix this, simply drag the Notepad window back to your own default place on the screen and re-size it by left-clicking (holding it without releasing the left click) on the horizontal or vertical corners (or sides) of the screen. When done, simply close the Notepad window and next time, it will automatically open Notepad into your newly setup default window size and place on the screen.
