Thanks to one of my clients, I came across an article that perfectly outlines a strategic approach to SEO. It resonated so much with me that I felt it deserved a wider audience. I first shared a condensed version in a thread about AMR, which quickly gained traction, earning me reputation points and even getting reposted. Seeing the interest it generated, I decided to refine and expand it for a broader audience.
This guide is designed to help you improve your Google rankings for specific keywords through a combination of manual efforts and SEO tools. However, before we dive in, let’s clarify what this guide is NOT about:
- It is NOT about choosing a profitable niche.
- It is NOT about finding the perfect keyword.
- It is NOT about content creation or spinning.
- It is NOT about website conversions.
- It is NOT about making money directly.
Your success depends on solid keyword research and an optimized website. If you skip this crucial step, no amount of effort will make up for it.
Good Rankings ≠ Traffic (or Revenue!)
Achieving high rankings in Google does not automatically mean you’ll get significant traffic, and even if you do, it does not guarantee profits.
The single most important factor in SEO is:
THOROUGH KEYWORD RESEARCH.
If you fail at this stage, no amount of backlinks, content, or traffic will result in success. Choose your battles wisely—going after highly competitive keywords may not always be the best strategy.
The SEO Process: Reverse Engineering Success
My SEO strategy is based on reverse engineering successful affiliate promotions in Google. I execute SEO in cycles, each lasting between one day to one week, depending on the time and effort invested. For aggressive campaigns, I run a cycle daily (excluding Xrumer and Scrapebox blasts). However, this requires extreme focus and long hours—sometimes 12+ hours per day.
Case Studies
Case Study 1: Internet Marketing Keyword (28M Competing Pages)
- Domain age: Less than 2 years
- Starting position: 250+
- Final ranking: 8 (after 7 cycles in one week)
- Competitor PR: 1-4 (thousands of backlinks)
- My PR: 0 (yet still ranked on page one)
Case Study 2: Product Review Keyword (5-Year-Old Product)
- Strategy: Wrote a 1500+ word review and ran one promotional cycle
- Final ranking: 7 on page one
- Competitor backlinks: Thousands
- My backlinks: Minimal
Case Study 3: Product Relaunch Promotion
- Domain: Purchased the last available .me TLD
- Strategy: Optimized for “product name” and ran 3 cycles
- Final ranking:
- YouTube video: 1 for “product name bonus”
- Website: 9 for the same keyword
- Overall site ranking: Page 2
How to Execute a Promotional Cycle
Follow these steps to strategically rank your keywords:
Step 1: Choose Your Target Keyword
- Focus on one keyword per cycle (even if your site targets multiple).
Step 2: Content Creation
- Write and publish a keyword-optimized article on your money site (optional but recommended).
- Create a 500+ word spun promo article (70% uniqueness using TheBestSpinner).
- Write at least 3 unique titles and spin them together.
Step 3: Multimedia Content
- Video: Use Animoto (with free images from Dreamstime), edit in Sony Vegas, and add a watermark with your money site link.
- PowerPoint & PDF: Convert your article into a PowerPoint presentation and PDF (I use Zinepal).
- Upload Content:
- YouTube: Add money site link in the description.
- SlideShare & Scribd: Upload PowerPoint & PDF with unique descriptions.
Step 4: Manual Web 2.0 Submissions
- Submit your spun promo article (with embedded video) to:
- Squidoo, HubPages, Weebly, Wikia, Wetpaint, Wikispaces, Posterous, Tumblr, WordPress, Blogspot, Bukisa, Zimbio, Skyrock, MyLivePage, and others.
- Ensure each article contains 2 links (randomized money site pages).
Step 5: Additional White Hat Submissions
- Write three more unique promo articles for Bukisa, InfoBarrel, and Quondio.
- Embed video in every submission.
Step 6: Blog Network Submissions
- If you have a UAW or ArticleRanks subscription, submit spun promo articles.
- Avoid AMA, MyArticleNetwork, SEOLinkVine, and FreeTrafficSystem (low quality control).
- Use TWO links per article (randomized money site pages).
Scaling Up: Backlink & Indexing Strategy
Step 7: Bookmarking & RSS Feeds
- Use BMD (Bookmarking Demon) to bookmark Web 2.0 submissions.
- Create an RSS feed of your links and ping it.
- Use SENuke to submit RSS feeds to directories.
Step 8: Article Marketing with AMR
- Submit spun articles to 1500+ article directories.
- Collect approved article URLs and create an RSS feed for indexing.
Step 9: Forum Profile Links & Blog Comments
- Use Xrumer to blast Web 2.0/article URLs to 5,000 forums.
- Use Scrapebox to spam forum profiles with additional backlinks.
Final Thoughts & Pro Tips
This strategy is labor-intensive but ensures a diversified link network from the start. Many shortcuts lead to penalties, deindexing, or wasted effort.
Extra Tips for Efficiency
✅ Use one SENuke account per niche.
✅ Open 100+ BMD accounts for faster submissions.
✅ Let Google naturally find Xrumer/Scrapebox links (avoids over-indexing).
✅ Pinging backlinks overnight allows for steady growth.
That’s it! I know this was a long post, but if you’re serious about ranking on Google, this blueprint works. Now, I’m off for a beer and some Assassin’s Creed—one last assassination in Jerusalem left. 😉
