Nothing makes me more upset than scammers insulting other people’s intelligence just to make a buck. They will key in on phrases like “SEO” which is a real big scam tactic now on the online world. I was hoping that by writing this article I could save some from the aggravation that comes with buying these bogus packages.

What is SEO?

SEO is an acronym for “Search Engine Optimization”. This is NOT a package that you buy but the deep quality content that you create on your website. It starts with the code structure usually in the form of a CMS “Content management System” or a web developer who can write proper code that search engines understand. There is also a LINK strategy that you should be aware of and implement so that you can increase your SERP. You can find this strategy, and many more, on Sirlinksalot. SERP is an acronym for “Search Engine Rank Position”. SEO is a lot of hard work and good content writing.

SEO Frauds in Emails

Here is a snippet that I received in an email yesterday, Google gets these too. I feel so bad for the people who are looking for some help with their web development strategy that fall victims to this garbage. These messages come through our emails from these people searching the “whois” database. There they get your email and find out that you are a webmaster and send you these emails hoping that you will bite. There is no doubt that it takes a lot of work to be indexed well in search engines and it is getting harder every day. These bogus “SEO Packages” are NOT the answer to your problems for SERP!

The Solution for SEO and SERP

Here is the answer and although you may or may not like it, it is the truth. You have to do the WORK! You have to make great content on your website. You have to link back from authoritative websites using your keyword phrases. You have to disavow links from spammy websites and tell other websites that are improperly linking to you. You have to be interesting and informative. Remember, Google only loves you when everyone else loves you first! So lets say that you do not have the time but you have the money to pay someone to layout the structure of your website and create great content for you. Then build a link strategy for SERP. This company or person has to know your business inside and out. They need to spend several hours with you gaining knowledge about your products and services. They have to know just about everything there is to know about your business. A legitimate SEO company will charge around $3000 a month because of the time involved creating content, link strategy and more. If it is a new website then it will take about 6-9 months before you start seeing any real return on your investment.
